Where I Create and why…..

Have you ever dreamed of taking a leap of faith and beginning a brand-new chapter in your life? I’m here to tell you—it’s absolutely possible.

In 2020, I embarked on an incredible journey: selling our Oklahoma home and building a new life in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The process took 18 months of construction and another full year to fully transition. Every detail—from packing and storing our Oklahoma home, to RV living near the build site, and then spending the winter months in Florida—was a test of patience, faith, and perseverance.

Building during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic came with its challenges—material shortages, delays, and uncertainty—but we pressed on. During that time, my creative energy shifted from painting to planning: drafting blueprints, sourcing materials, and coordinating every aspect of the build. It became a full-time mission. Yet deep down, I longed for the quiet, grounding rhythm that creating art brings to my soul.

Now, I’m finally back in my new art studio—a space thoughtfully designed for focus, light, and inspiration. From every window, I’m greeted with breathtaking views of the mountains, the forest, and Lake Chatuge. The serenity of the Blue Ridge region has changed everything for me. Life here moves slower, the people are genuine, and nature’s presence feels like a daily invitation to create with God.

It’s spring in the mountains as I write this, and from 3,000 feet up, I’m surrounded by life—deer passing through the trees, the sound of wind dancing through the forest canopy, and air so fresh it clears the mind and nourishes the spirit. I’ve realized that I was never meant to thrive in crowded, noisy places; this peaceful landscape is where my heart feels most at home.

To everyone who followed this journey, checked in on our progress, and offered encouragement along the way—thank you. Your support has meant the world to me.

And to anyone standing at the edge of their own dream, wondering if they should take that leap—do it. Trust in God, work hard, stay persistent, and surround yourself with love and the beauty of creation. When you do, you’ll discover that anything truly is possible.
